It’s been a busy, but fun year for Let’s Play Together! Mary and Laura just returned from an exciting 2 day training in Milford, Nebraska where they presented to an enthusiastic group of early childhood teams. They’re already planning a follow up training for next year.
This school year has been full of new opportunities to discuss the importance of movement and meaningful play in the lives of young children. It started off with Mary and Laura presenting at the National DEC conference in Kansas City, where they discussed the importance of providing universally designed curriculums so children of all abilities can play and learn together. They also made two trips to Texas…Houston and Austin…where they provided one day trainings to teachers and therapists. We were very excited that every participant at both of these workshops received a Play & Learn book, a Let’s Play with the ElastaBlast Handbook, and an Elastablast, thanks to each of their Regional Centers.
In March, Mary and Laura traveled to Reno to provide an all day pre-conference workshop at the Nevada DEC conference. In-between Reno and speaking at the Minnesota Autism Conference, they taught a class for Early Childhood Special Education graduate students at St. Thomas. So, it really has been a busy and very energizing year.
Let’s Play Together is already looking forward to partnering with our good friend and colleague, Kimberly Dye, at the National Dance Conference in Minneapolis this fall.
Best wishes to all for a safe and playful summer!
